MATERIALS USED TO BUILD COLUMNS:
Concrete, brick,block,sandstone,wood,felt, and roofing tar.
Marble (Pentelic and Parian)
PURPOSE OF BUILDING:
After fire destroyed Dr. Matton's Home and books. A new library for students became a priority.
Dedicated to two gods: Hephaestus and Athena.
